The integration of electronics into our connectors (Connectronics) enhances their functionality. In this case, amplification electronics have been integrated into the connector backshell to boost the USB3 signal over an additional 8 meters.
A complete range will follow, with amplifiers for other signals, such as USB3 Type C, and HDMI. These future versions will certainly use the AOC technology, Active Optical Cable, with transceivers integrated into the connectors at both ends of the cable, so that signals can be extended over longer distances using Fiber Optics. These electronics will be self-powered via the interface protocols, creating a real "Plug & Play" solution.
