AM-1a MVP demonstrator drone

Amonyx ApS

ExtPe6a - C190
Denmark
The AM-1a MVP demonstrator drone is designed solely to demonstrate the capabilities and stability of the Amonyx Augmented Lift System (ALS) resulting in a take off speed at 14 m/s after a 20 roll for take off.
The AM-1a uses canards as both ailerons and elevators. The canards seems oversized, but due to the extreme VSTOL capabilities of the ALS this is needed to maintain full control of the platform. The TOW is app. 180 kgs and the wingspan is 5 m.
An AM-1b platform (same specs as AM-1a) using a more standard rear mounted elevators/ailerons solution is displayed at the Amonyx outdoor stand.

Innovation character

The Amonyx Augmented Lift System (ALS) is a patented blown lift technology providing a proven 400% lift increase during takeoff and landing and a 50% reduction of drag on the wing providing a massive reduction in fuel consumption.
Thus the ALS enables VSTOL, very high payload, and long range for a smaller platform sized fixed winged UAS used for either ISR, transportation or one-way purposes.

Potential for evolution

The next steps will be to develop a fully automated AI operated capacity able to operate in GPS and communications denied areas of operation.
The AM-3 is intended as an ISR capacity used for anything ranging from wild life preservation, forest fires, refugee control, pollution control, infrastructure surveillance, SAR, to military operations. Runway need 25 m, airtime 48 hrs. range 12.000+ km.
The AM-4 is intended to be a transport capacity. An example could be a payload of 2.500 kg / 5 Euro pallets with a runway need of app. 30 m (a parking lot) and a range of minimum 5.000 km if needed.

Energetic transition

The ALS provides a drag reduction on the wing of 50%. This will give any aerial platform a drastically reduced fuel consumption.
